News / Science :Coca Cola and Pepsi contain alcohol This information alarmed those who can not consume intoxicating substances for medical or religious reasons
Two of the world's most popular soft drinks not only among adults but also among children, Coca Cola and Pepsi, containing alcohol, has revealed a recent study by the National Consumer Institute of France. According to tests, these drinks contain about 10 grams of alcohol per liter, which is about 0.001% of this substance. Although the amount of alcohol in these drinks is not huge, it may be crucial for people who can not drink alcohol for health reasons or religious beliefs. Thus, this information has already alarmed the Muslims, since Islam forbids the consumption of alcohol. What's more, the study also revealed that Coca Cola and Pepsi contain terpenes which can cause allergies. Another controversial ingredient of soft drinks is the caramel coloring E150d, which since 2008 is part of the list of dangerous substances in the state of California (USA). These data add to several reports that these beverages are carcinogenic. So we will think twice before reaching out to a can of one of the favorite drinks of much of the world population.
