The History of the Companions of the Cave.

In the year 106 AD, Roman armies occupied the land of Jordan, where the kingdom of the Nabateans had established. The Roman Emperor Trajan was a pagan fanatic who had persecuted believers, especially the followers of Isa (AS). Before this military expedition, Syria, Palestine and Jordan had experienced a kind of autonomy, and capital Rome had been satisfied with the payment of taxes in those countries. For this reason the Roman forces in the region were numerically small. Therefore, the Romans organized the expedition in order to completely dominate those countries and submit them to the direct rule of Rome. In the year 112 AD, Trajan decreed: "Those who follow the Issa and refuse to worship the gods are unfair to the state, thus sentenced to death!"

Philadelphia

At that time, the people called the city of Amman (Jordan's capital) of Philadelphia, because of its beauty. They decorated with statues, but not used these statues as decoration only. The worshiped as deities instead of worshiping God, the Glorified. There was a statue of Athina, the god of war. He had a sword in his right hand and a shield on the left. There was also a statue of Taiki, the god of wealth and guardian of the city. This statue is currently in the museum of Amman. Philadelphia was southeast of Amman, witnessed the great civilization of that time. As for believers, led a life of fear, especially when the Roman forces occupied the city at the time of Trajan and dominated the government from Rome. In the year 112 AD, Trajan regarded all Christians as disloyal to their government and made them choose between idolatry and death.

The Seven Young

Many people in the city led a life of terror, so they pretended to worship the Roman gods. While the committees of the government inspect the beliefs of the people, so that people felt unsafe. However, seven young people living in that city. History mentioned their names as:

1. Maxminyanius
2. Amlikhius
3. Motyanius
4. Danius
5. Yanius
6. Aksa Kadtho Niyanius
7. Antonius

These young Christians were perplexed, not knowing what to do. They had two choices, or death or disbelief. In those hard times, decided to flee the city.

As they fled?

That early morning, while government investigators seeking believers, the guards saw seven young people and a dog leaving the city, then asked them: "Where are you going?" One of the seven boys said, "We're going hunting." The guards said, "Well, to return and take part in the official celebration!"

Toward the Cave

The seven young people and their dog went to the cave. The cave is located seven kilometers from the city, near a village called Al Raqim. The youth came to a mountainous area and then climbed the mountains toward the cave that had previously chosen. The cave was at the foot of a hill in the south. He had a particular position, it was mild climate had two openings, one right and one left. Its entrance faced south. The cave was seven and a half feet wide and was the place that young people had chosen to take refuge. Young decided to isolate the people hiding there waiting for the mercy of God. They had no hope of overcoming the force of the Romans. But also, resolutely refused to worship idols. They knew that God was the Lord of heaven and earth, and that idolatry opposed the great truth of existence. The people of that time did not believe in the Day of Judgement. I thought that when a person died, his soul migrated to another body or an animal.

The Long Sleep

Young people were exhausted when they entered the cave. However, they were also excited because they thought that the Roman soldiers would come after him and discover his hiding place. They were tired because they had not slept for a day, well, they were sleepy, then fell asleep while dreaming of a happy future. To demonstrate his power to revive the man after death, God, the Glorious, has made the seven young fast asleep and closing your ears.

How long are seven young people sleep? They slept for many years. The sun rose and stood still while sleeping. The Roman soldiers sought by young people everywhere, but all their attempts came to nothing. The country's people commented about the seven young men, saying: "The seven young men were hunting. They disappeared and nobody found it yet." Many years have passed but no one knew what had happened in that cave. The dog stretched its paws at the entrance of the cave and went to sleep too deeply. The air here was enjoyable because the cave entrance faced south and the two side vents let the sun in the morning and afternoon. The seven young people were sleeping and did not know what had happened. Dozens of years passed while they were asleep. If a shepherd had found a cave or a traveler had gone there during a storm, would have escaped that frightening sight. Why? Why would people with open eyes and a hunting dog still in the cave entrance. The seven boys were sound asleep, but had no dreams. What happened out there? In cities and villages of the country?

The Death of Trajan

The Emperor Trajan died. Many emperors followed him and also died. Diqyanius, who ruled from 285 to 305 AD, also died. Tadmor had lost its glory in the year 110 and then to have recovered. But in 272 the city has completely lost its glory when the Romans attacked her and made her queen, Zenobia, as a prisoner.

Just Emperor

The emperor Theodosius ascended the throne of Rome in 408 ad, and then embraced the Christian faith, so that the Roman Empire became Christian. In the year 412, God willed that the truth came out and that his power is revealed to all mankind, as a sign of his mercy. Then the seven young people have slept for three centuries. What had happened in the cave? Kutmirun, the dog barked, so young people awakened from sleep longer history. One of the seven boys thought he had slept for a few hours, so he asked his companions: "How much time sleeping? The boys were still sleepy. The sun was about to come by, but still cast its golden rays into the cave through the opening . So the boys thought they had slept for a whole day. What had spent all night sleeping and had not noticed the sunset and sunrise. The sun was setting at that moment, then said: "We sleep all day and part of another day. ' One said: 'Our Lord knows best how long we were sleeping. "

Only God knows how long their sleep. Only God knows what is hidden. When the man falls asleep, he does not know what happens in the world around them. Suppose a person slept in the early fall and awoke to see snow and bare trees. He feels it would have slept for more than three months. Understand why so? Why think that would last fall asleep and it would then winter. The seven young men awoke and saw the sun setting. They knew they had slept for some hours or more. Because they did not know if the sun had set and then born the next day. They did not know if the sun was trying to restart it or not. They firmly believed in God, and said, "Only God knows how long we were sleeping." They just assumed that they had slept for a whole day and part of another.

Hazardous Task
The next morning, the seven young people were hungry and wanted to buy food. Thus, one of them showed some gold coins and said, "Let us take one of these gold coins and buy some good food, but he must take care of people. You should not recognize that. If they know our cache, we will be caught and killed. " Another said: "Indeed, they stone those who refuse to worship their gods." Another commented: "Perhaps, compel us to prostrate ourselves to their idols." And another said: "For what is this miserable fate!"

In Market

One of seven young men volunteered to go to the city to buy food at the market. He left the cave and went down the hill. Thought on how to enter the city and how to respond to the Roman guards when they surveyed. He did not see the changes the rain, flooding and wind had done for three centuries. I was nervous because it had not gone hunting or take a walk with his companions when he fled to the cave. Returned to buy food, but was afraid. I thought the situation was as before. Came to town and looked at its walls and buildings. He walked perplexed, thought to be in another city. No one stopped him from entering the city. Also found no statues of deities, however, felt a stranger in town. People looked at his clothes in horror, was not dressed according to the season. He saw the people in town wearing a new type of clothes, and found that the Roman soldiers pursued and punished to the other because of their beliefs. He saw the city people living, working and planting in peace. At the same time, not found on their faces the marks of anxiety. The young man continued to walk to the market. Asked one person about the market and this guided him. He was surprised to hear the accent of the people, since they differed from his. They spoke with an accent again. "What a wonderful thing!" said the young man. Then he asked himself: "I got lost and arrived in another city?"

The Great Truth

The young man began to pay attention to their behavior. Thought you had to buy food and return to the mountain hideout. Thus, behaved in a normal way, like a city dweller. People saw him as someone coming from a distant village in the mountains. The young man searched for a good man who sold food, and not found it. Then he realized what had happened. When the seller received their gold coins, looked at him with surprise. Then he said to himself: "These coins are from the time of Emperor Trajan. Were minted three centuries ago." The salesman looked stunned for the young. It was assumed that the youth had found a treasure, so I told him: "You found a treasure?" "What do you mean?" asked the young man. The salesman replied, "I mean that these coins are from centuries ago." "They're mine and I came to buy food," said the youth. "Look, we deal with these coins!" said the salesman. The young man looked at the money the seller. He had not seen before, so he asked: "My Lord, what happened?" The salesman said, "If you give me a share of the treasure, I will not tell anybody." "What a treasure? Asked the young man" I have nothing but these coins. "The salesman grabbed the girl and shouted, so that the people gathered around them. The young man turned from one side to another and said," Why Please, drop me! Trajan's soldiers will kill me if I catch! Do not have pity on me. "" Trajan! said the salesman. People looked surprises for the young, and then laughed. One person said: "Trajan died many years ago. Are you crazy?" "Who is the government of the empire now?" asked the young man. "Theodosius is the government. He is a good emperor. Adopted the religion of Issa two or three years ago," someone said. The young man asked, "You mean they do not kill Christians?" "What you say?" one person asked, "The people believed in the religion of God. The time of oppression and torture is over." An old man rubbed his forehead and said: "My Lord, When I was a kid, my grandmother told me that some pious young men feared for their religion, fled, and none was found. ' The young man was about to faint. I was about to fall to the ground by what he heard. Then he asked himself: "Did we sleep through all these years? It is possible for a man to sleep for three centuries? "The young do not remember anything. I thought I had slept for a day and a part of another. He rubbed his eyes. He thought he had a dream. Then he said:" No! No! This is very true!

The governor of the city heard about the events. Heard that there was a young believer, so he ordered him to report to him. The governor knew that he was faced with a great truth, and that Allah, the Glorified, wanted to show humanity a sign of his power to resurrect the dead. The governor asked the young man who would lead them to cave. So the young man walked over there, followed by the governor and his soldiers. Young people in the cave were in distress because his companion was too long. One said: "Maybe he has been arrested!" Another commented: "Perhaps he was slow to enter the city, we know that the guards are ruthless!" In those difficult moments, one of them left the cave and climbed to the top of the hill. From there, he could see the roads leading into town. He saw with his own eyes what he feared. Then he cried: "The Roman soldiers are coming to us!" Then he quickly returned to his companions and told them: "I saw the soldiers coming towards us! They captured our friend and he is leading them to us!" One young man said: "I do not think so! Hopefully! Perhaps the soldiers are going to another place."

The tense moments passed quickly. Suddenly, his companion entered the cave and told them about the great truth: "You do not fall asleep for a day and part of another. Fall asleep for three centuries. God has made you a sign that He is able to raise the human and that their souls will return to their bodies. " At that time some people used to say: "When the soul leaves the body does not return to him, goes to another body!" While the believers say, "God has power over all things. It is He who created man, he does die and resurrect."

The young man had asked the governor to go alone to the cave, saying, "My companions are afraid of oppression and do not know what happened." When young people discovered the truth, shed tears of fear and love God. Then begged God to make them die because they belonged to another age, far from that in three centuries. Thus, the Glorious God, accepted the plea and made them die, so that their souls ascended to heaven and found a world full of goodness and peace. The governor and his men waited outside the cave. When the wait became too much, decided to join. When they came there, they saw a striking image: Seven young and his dog were killed. They realized that young people had just died because their bodies were still warm. The governor and his soldiers fell before God.

The people of that time arguing among themselves about the spirit. Some said that the soul returned to the body on Judgement Day, others, that the soul is transferred to another body. When they saw with their own eyes, the companions of the cave, believed in the power of God. The polytheists doubted the fact, and said, "Raise a monument over them, their Lord knows them better." As for the believers said, "Certainly we will raise a masjid over them." They added: "We get the blessing of the place where God showed us his power." Thus, believers triumphed over the polytheists and then erected a Masjid on the seven young people, which worshiped God, the One God.

When someone visits the capital of Jordan today, can see the companions of the cave. The cave is located at 8 km from Amman. Between the villages of Al Raqim and Abu Alanda. There one can see seven coffins. In addition, there is a small skiff, which is probably the tomb of the dog of the Companions of the Cave. Thanks to the archaeologist Dajjani Rafiq Al Wafa, who published the results of his excavations in 1964, proved that the cave is where the Qur'an and not the city of Afsus in Turkey as European historians have claimed.

The scholars asked: "How long will the Companions of the Cave fell asleep?" The Holy Quran says, "stayed in their Cave three hundred years and nine." The answer is the period of their 309 years of sleep is the lunar calendar, which equates to 300 years of the solar calendar.

The solar year is equal to the lunar year and 365 days to 354 days. 300 times 365 equals 109,500 days and 309 times 354 days equals 109,386 days. Since the lunar year is 354 days, 8 hours and 48 minutes, then 8 hours and 48 minutes = 528

"Do they think that of the Cave and the Inscription are a wonder among Our signs? Recalls when a group of youths sought refuge in the cave, saying, 'Lord, grant us Thy mercy, and reserves a success in our company! them were asleep in the cave for years. Then raised them up that We on which of the two parties would best calculate the time it had remained there. " (Quran, C.18 - V. 9 to 12)
The Story of Yahya (John the Baptist) (A.S.).

Our Prophet Issa was born. He was the Word and God's mercy. His birth was miraculous. The people knew the chastity of Maryam. While talking they heard the baby in the cradle and announcing the good news of God's mercy, so people believed and worshiped God. Jewish society at that time led a life full of corruption and lies. The Jews were very materialistic people. With the exception of few words, no part of the Torah remained correct. The Jews distort the words of God. They did this in order to achieve their interests and ambitions. The Jewish society has become materialistic, does not believe in anything but mundane. The poor became poorer and the rich richer. Nothing was sacred than gold.

To Egypt

The country was ruled by chaos when told the baby in the crib. Some political leaders came and asked about the baby who spoke in the cradle and gave the good news of the prophecy and salvation to the people. The Jews who lived in the capital of the empire, Rome, were eager to know what had happened in his homeland. No one was safe from the plots of the Jews, even Zakariya. Jews plotted against him and urged the Romans to kill him. The unbelieving Jews hated everyone, loved only themselves. They conspired against the prophets who came to them and guide them to the path of truth.

Bakht Nasr, the King of Babylon, occupied Palestine and drove the Jews as prisoners of war. So, the unbelieving Jews began to hate humanity and have planned to control the world since then. They wrote a book called the Talmud. They say that this book is more sacred than the Torah. They twisted the words of God and the law of Musa (AS), the Messenger of God. For this reason, Issa was born without a father to sign and to guide the children of Israel to the straight path. However, the Jews accused him of lying prophets, as they called on humanity to follow the correct path. Mariam feared for the safety of your baby, afraid of the conspiracy of the unbelieving Jews. The Roman officers came and asked her about the baby, therefore, Mariam decided to leave for Egypt.

So one night, Mariam took the spirit and the word of God (Isa) and left their homeland going to Egypt. She lived there for many years.

Yahia, holds the Book!

Yahia was a lovely child. His face shone with the light and dignity of the prophets. The children came to him and said, "Let's Play." Yahya replied gently: "I grew up not to play." He learned many things as a child. So ask yourself: "Why Mariam fled and took her baby, why the Jews lead a life of ignorance, corruption and deviation from the truth, why the unbelieving Roman control my people?" Yahia answered all these questions by saying: "All this happened because the children of Israel strayed from the true religion, because they have become selfish." Yahia has grown into a robust young man, then he openly said: "Those who have clothes to donate to those who do not have." "Those who have food to feed the poor! You must not oppress anyone! The Way of God is clear and straight, do not make it crooked."

Herod

At that time the Governor appointed by Rome to Syria, was Herod. A pagan evil. Herod's brother had a beautiful wife, so Herod came upon his brother's wife by force. No one opposed Herod, except our Prophet Yahia, who told him: "You have no right to marry the woman of your brother!" Yahia not silent. He condemned the misdeeds of Herod. Herod ordered his guards to arrest Yahya and it was done. When Yahia put in prison, he was not afraid of them, did not ask him out. Yahia was courageous in prison, so, cried, "Who is more powerful than I will come in my support! Mercy will prevail. The flowers bloom. The eyes see the light of day and ears open!"

The celebration

Herod held a great celebration. During which the women danced and men drank wine, while the poor were starving outside the palace. They felt overwhelmed and shook with cold. The poor were naked, had no clothes to cover their bodies, while Herod the Governor, wore fine silk clothes and sat on his throne decorated with gold, silver and precious stones. Yahia's voice echoed through the prison walls: "Herod the oppressor, you have no right to marry a woman who has a husband!" The banquet hall was full of girls and boys. Then the musicians began to play. Herod on his throne sat and drank wine, and his new wife sat by his side. His eyes sparkled with mischief. An attractive young woman dressed in silk entered the hall. Herod got up and went to his new wife, saying, "Your daughter is beautiful!" The woman said with a twinkle: "Salome dance for you!" Herod said joyfully: "For me?" "Yes, for you." The woman replied. Salome came to Herod and said lightly: "I shall dance for you!" Herod said, "I'll give you half my kingdom." "Give me what I want!" asked Salome. "Yes, I'll give you what you desire." Herod said. So, Salome began dancing barefoot. She delighted Herod and he drank wine. The Jewish woman said: "I'll bring her home in procession to you. "Herod was full of contentment. Salome approached and said," Give me everything I want. "Herod said," Ask whatever you wish! I'll give you half of what I have. "Salome twisted his body like a snake and said," I want the head of Yahya, the son of Zakariya! "Herod said," No! No! Spare me everything you want! I'll give you my throne! "Salome's mother said with malice," Yahia not accept that you espoused Salome "" Yahia, this stop me! "Said Salome." Yes, Yahia! "Repeated the mother. Salome said: "I want that offers Yahya's head on a silver platter." He clapped his hands and his eyes sparkled with mischief as well, the music stopped. Herod cried, "What will bring the prisoner! Bring Yahia! "

The youth fled the room. The venue has become a scary place. The guards brought Yahia, who was shackled and his face shone with heavenly light. His face was as white as a cloud. Herod cried out: "I have espoused this woman, I am the governor of this land!" Yahya said so angrily: "It is unlawful for you, do it!" Herod cried out: "I betroth her daughter! Betroth Salome!" Yahia, furious, said: "It is unlawful for you, do it! It is illegal for a man to marry a married woman! It is unlawful for a man to marry his stepdaughter!" Yahia Herod cried mischievously: "I will cut your head, so your voice will be shut forever!" Yahia spoke with a voice that shook the walls of the palace: "It is unlawful for you! It is unlawful for you!" Herod cried: "Hangman, smite him!"

Then the executioner beheaded the Prophet! Something amazing happened: the head of Yahya rolled across the marble floor of the court and heard a voice saying: "It is not lawful for you! It is not lawful for you!" Herod was terrified and ordered his men to put out the torches and follow him. Yahya died a martyr, but his words kept echoing through the palace and the city.

Yahya had announced to the people that the prophets would come after him. He was the first to believe in the apostolate of Issa, the people and announced his coming. Allah, the Glorified, said in the Quran: "Peace be with him the day he was born, the day he dies and is resurrected on the day." Our Prophet Mohammad (SAW) said: "All sins will present when you meet with God on Judgement Day, except Yahya, the son of Zakariya."

When our Prophet Issa heard about the martyrdom of Yahya was very sad and said, "Women do not generate any child who is better than Yahya."

The Return of Issa

Herod died, but his evil remained, and the Jews continued living a life dominated by ignorance. Thus, Issa son of Mariam, decided to return to Palestine. He and his mother lived in a village called Nasirah Jalil Al among the mountains. There the angel visited him and ordered him to announce his divine mission. What happened to our Prophet Issa? We will know it in the next chapter.

"There did Zakariya pray to his Lord: My Lord, grant me a blessed seed, because you are Exorável par excellence. The angels called him, while praying in the oratory, saying: God will announce the birth of John that corroborate the Word of God, is noble, chaste and virtuous one of the prophets. " (Quran C.3 - V. 38 and 39)

The History of Owners of the Elephant.

In the year 535 AD, Ibraheem, the Abyssinian, the governor of Yemen became independent of the Abyssinian empire. Ibraheem behaved like an emperor, ambitious expand the area of his country through the occupation of the lands of others. At that time there was a serious conflict between the Persian Empire and the Roman Empire. The Romans encouraged Ibraham to win their independence and strengthen their links with it. As for the Persians, supported the Christians who opposed the government of Ibraham, and also supported the Jews in Yemen. Jews supported the Abyssinians to occupy Yemen. They teased Dhu Nu'as to persecute Christians for Najjran thus the abssínios came and occupied the Yemen.

Al Qalees
Ibraham was supposed to be able to invade and dominate the Hijaz trade route, and then one could establish communication with the Roman Empire. The Romans encouraged him to accomplish this goal would strengthen his influence in neighboring areas of the Persian empire. So they sent preachers to spread Christianity in those areas. Ibraheem, the Abyssinian, intended to build the largest church in the region, because the Arabs wanted to stop performing the Hajj to the Kaaba and convert them to Christianity. When the largest church in the region was completed, Ibraham invited the Arabs to visit her, however, insisted on Arab trade caravans heading to the Holy Kaaba. Ibraheem, the Abyssinian, decided to destroy the Kaaba, then formed a large army and prepared a well tamed African elephant. Ibraheem took over the leadership of his army and left San'a. Some Arab tribes tried to prevent the advance of his army, but managed to defeat them Ibraheem, and so advanced towards Mecca to occupy it and destroy the Sacred House.

The Abyssinian army occupied all the land which he passed. When we approached Mecca, he found the camels of Abd Al-Muttalib bin Hashim and seized them. The people of Mecca heard the news of the military expedition, so that left the city and went to the top of the mountains. There was no person in the city as well as Abd Al-Muttalib, the grandfather of our Prophet Mohammad (SAW).

The Lord will protect His House

Abd Al-Muttalib, the guardian of Mecca, advised the people to leave the city to protect themselves from the Abyssinian soldiers. Abd Al Muttalib was an outstanding personality. It was he who dug the well of Zamzam in 540 A.D. So the people respected him and supported his leadership. Abd al-Muttalib went to the Kaaba and prayed to Allah, the Glorified, to protect your home, saying: "My Lord, the man defends his home, thus defending your! Man defends his home when he is attacked, then , My Lord, defend your home against the aggression of the Abyssinians. "

Abyssinian troops reached the limits of Mecca and broke camp there to prepare for the attack. Ibraheem asked a person: "Who is the leader of Mecca?" The person who said, "The leader is an old man named Abd al-Muttalib, who belongs to the children of Abraham." Ibraheem wanted to meet with Abd Al-Muttalib, so that a person ordered to come to him Himyar. The Himyari Abd Al-Muttalib came and said: "(The king said):" I have to commit war against you. I just have to destroy the Kaaba. If my soldiers not to resist, do not attack the people of Mecca. "Thus, Abd Al-Muttalib said:" We do not wish to fight against you, and we can not resist the Abyssinian army. "Then he pointed to the Kaaba and said: "This is the sacred house of God, and his friend Abraham. Only God has the power to defend his house. We do not have an army. "The Himyari said:" If you do not have the intention of waging war against us, then join me for the king wants to meet you. "Thus, Abd Al Muttalib went to Makkah and met with Ibraheem, the Abyssinian . Ibraheem sat on his royal throne in a tent covered with expensive carpets. When he saw Abd al Muttalib, rose and welcomed him warmly. So, what made him sit beside the throne and said to him: "Our sole objective is to destroy the Kaaba. "Ibraheem addressed the interpreter and said:" Abd Al-Muttalib Ask about what you want. "Abd Al-Muttalib said:" The army took possession of my two hundred camels, please order me to return. "When Ibraham heard the translation, Abd Al Muttalib looked amazed and said, "When I saw you, I respected it. When you have spoken it, I put away. Why ask me to return your camels and leave the house that you and your parents worship? "Abd Al-Muttalib looked at and Ibraheem said:" I defend my camels and my Lord defends his house! "Ibraheem said so mockingly," I I do not think he will. "Abd Al-Muttalib said with faith:" We shall see! "Ibraheem was upset to hear these words of Abd al Muttalib, then got up and closed the meeting. As Abd Al Muttalib, rose and returned to Kaaba. When he arrived at the gate of the holy house, grabbed the ring of it and shook it with force, cried and said, "My Lord, the man defends his home of aggression, therefore, defend your house against aggression!"

Attack

In the early hours of the morning, the Abyssinian army put the white elephant in front of him and advanced towards the Kaaba to destroy it. Ibraham stood watching in the hills where his army advancing against the Kaaba, the Arabs worshiped, to destroy it. Ibraheem had told his fighters, "Let the elephant shake the walls of the Kaaba and then to place it below with your hoes and spears." The people of Mecca stood on mountain tops and watched what was happening in the valley. They watched with sadness the House that Abraham had built. Abd Al Muttalib was sadder than them. The merchants of Mecca were also distressed, but feared for their personal interests, since Mecca was an important business center. Abdallah, son of Abd Al Mutallib, had gone to Syria and his wife left the house of Abd Al Mutallib. She was with the people of Mecca and thought of his blessed baby.

The Elephant disobeyed

When the elephant was near the Kaaba, he stopped and disobeyed the man who guided him. The man whipped the animal with his whip, but all attempts were futile, because the elephant was trying to retreat. Ibraheem, commander in chief, was impressed to see the elephant refuse to move against the Kaaba, then he shouted angrily. The elephant driver did everything he could to force the animal to move, but this did not follow even a step further.

Then something extraordinary happened. The elephant knelt. The task of the driver became very difficult. The elephant disobeyed the driver could not control it. If Ibraheem had had an atom of faith, he would have asked yourself, "Why did the elephant refuses to move against the Kaaba in spite of the harsh lashes?" However, Ibraheem was arrogant, did not think about anything but their own ambitions.

The horrific attack
Suddenly, something like dark clouds on the horizon. It was not clouds, flocks of birds were called Abábil carrying stones in their beaks burning. The birds hovered over the Abyssinian army attacked and with the stones. The birds are gone, and then other bands came and attacked the army, so that the soldiers were in chaos and fell to the ground like flies. Abd Al Mutallib watched what was happening, was full of humility and his eyes sparkled with faith. He said to himself: "Behold the power of God!" Ibraheem whipped his horse, but the birds followed him and attacked him with his red-hot stones. Ibraheem achieved its capital San'a, however, fell from his horse at the gates of the city. His eyes were paralyzed with terror.

Abd Al-Muttalib reached the Kaaba and peered around the area, which had become a battlefield covered with corpses burned.

The Birth of the Sun

Abd Al Mutallib gave the good tidings to the people of Mecca, saying, "God destroyed the attackers and saved the Kaaba." As he spoke to the people, one person came and announced the birth of a blessed child. The person said, "Amina gave birth to a boy." The face of Abu Al-Muttalib shone with happiness, for God had protected His Sacred House, Amina had given birth to a boy blessed.

Abd Al-Muttalib took his grandchild in his arms and said, "I gave him the name of Mohammad." People were surprised and asked, "Why did this to him that name?" Abd al-Muttalib replied: "I gave him this name because I want to be praised in heaven and on earth."

The Year of the Elephant

The people of Mecca returned to their homes and were very happy. Abd Al-Muttalib went to the Kaaba to cleanse it of impurities of the attackers. The news spread through the Arab tribes, and come to respect the Kaaba further. The people called that year "The Year of the Elephant." Our Prophet Mohammad (SAW) was born that year.

When our Prophet Muhammad (saw) was forty years old, the angel Gabriel descended from heaven and said to him the good news of the Message. Fiil Sura (Sura of the Elephant) is among the first suras and reminded the people of Mecca on the Year of the Elephant.

The Hanafis

Abd Al Muttalib believed in the religion of Hanafi, who was the religion of their patriarch Abraham, the friend of God. When Allah, the Glorified, has saved the Kaaba of the Abyssinians of aggression, the people met the high position of Abd al Muttalib before Him Abd Al-Muttalib asked not to idols that rescues the Kaaba, he prayed to Allah, the Glorified, that did. So Allah, the Glorified, answered the prayers of Abd Al-Muttalib and destroyed the attackers.

The Trade

Mecca became an important commercial center, the commercial caravans of Quraish went to Syria in summer and in winter to Yemen. The merchants of Quraish were safe from the assaults of the tribes, as all Arabs surrounded the Kaaba. When God, the Glorious, has appointed Mohammad (SAW) as a Prophet, He reminded the Quraish on their behalf in the salvation of the Kaaba of all aggression and destruction. He also reminded them of his support in securing the trade caravans from the assaults of the tribes, so God, the Exalted, says:

"By the agreement of Quraish, the agreement of the winter holidays and summer! Who worship the Lord of this House, which provides them against hunger and the safeguarding of fear!" (Quran C.106)

Today, the Kaaba became a symbol of the oneness of God and the unity of Muslims around the world. When we keep our daily prayers we should remember the Kaaba, the sacred house of God, the house built by Abraham and Ismail. We know that the Kaaba is the symbol of our strength and glory. The Kaaba is the pearl of Islam. The Kaaba is the heart of the Islamic world and Quibla of Muslims everywhere.

"Have you not seen what thy Lord did with the owners of the elephants? Doth not He smote their conspiracy, sent against them a flock of winged creatures, which they threw stones of baked clay and left them devastated and plantations (by cattle )? " (Quran C. 105)

Ayat-ul-Kursî.]—
Allah! There is no deity except He, the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists. Neither slumber, nor sleep overtake Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth.
Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission?
He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter .
And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His throne extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

O JARDIM - THE GARDEN

O JARDIM
